A Different Approach to Farm Succession Workshops

Summary
In 2022, the University of Maryland developed an online self-paced course, and related workshop series focused on answering basic legal questions in Maryland that often come into county Extension offices. The team developing the program realized there was an opportunity to develop a workshop series around these questions but, at the same time, expose landowners to succession planning resources.
This presentation will review the development of the online course and the workshop content and its impact on farm succession programming in the state.
