North Dakota State University Extension Service has conducted an educational and public effort over the last 25 plus years. Each fall, a one day conference is conducted in several locations in North Dakota. The intended audience are agricultural lenders, farm business management instructors and extension agents. Typical topics presented include: crop market outlook, livestock market outlook, macro economy outlook, farm bill, crop insurance, crop and livestock budgets, interest rate projections and other current topics of interest. The objective is to inform lenders on the current economic situation so they can make better lending decisions to benefit both the lender and the producer.
The presentation to the ERME conference includes a description of the lenders conferences, selected presentation materials, and evaluations and statistics of the program. Educators and others could use this information and adapt it for their own situation.
