Facilitating Farm Discussion Groups for Wisdom & Fun

Summary
Discover the fundamental role discussion group facilitators can play in the development of an all-inclusive and supportive community for Ag women in your region by reviewing formats for marketing and unusual evaluation techniques and methods for keeping participants engaged in discussion groups.
Presenters will share examples of existing farmer discussion groups in NYS spanning a variety of commodities, locations, age ranges and time spent in agriculture.
Participants will:
o Discover the skills of effective discussion group facilitation
o Gather insight into useful evaluation techniques to prepare impact and/or value statements
o Collect various communication methods used to engage group participants as well as with their families.
The first 25 participants in the session will receive a “Farmer to Farmer Discussion Group Guide” published by Cornell University Staff.
