Alabama A&M University’s Small Farms Research Center has over 20 years of experience working with socially disadvantaged, limited resource, organizations, faith-based organizations, agribusiness, and minority producers and landowners on various aspects of agricultural and risk management issues, including business development. The Center works closely with groups of interest by providing outreach and technical assistance.
The Small Farms Research Center (AAMU) will discuss the many innovative funding opportunities for socially disadvantaged, limited resource, including new and beginning farmers. The presentation will discuss in-depth USDA programs, local and state programs, including collaborations with universities and non-profit organizations on how to utilize these various resources to strengthen their farm operation. The Center will also highlight a few success stories and “how to” simple tips on apply for funding opportunities
