Meat Goats: Example Budget for a Small-Scale Farm

Siddhartha Dasgupta ( 2007 )

Summary

This is an enterprise budget for a 60-doe meat goat herd in Kentucky. This small herd size is common to many Kentucky farms, and meat goats are reared as a mean of supplemental income with very modest labor and management requirements. It is assumed that the producer sells 50 lb kids and culled adults in livestock auctions that abound in the state.
