The Economics of Bt Corn: Adoption Implications
Several varieties of transgenic corn have recently become available. The term "transgenic" refers to corn, or any other organism, that contains a gene from a different plat or organism. In this case, the gene is taken from a naturally occurring soil bacterium known as Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt).
