The success of the University of Missouri Extension’s Value-Added Meats program stems from the diverse expertise and collaboration of its five-member team. This multidisciplinary team leverages academic expertise, professional experience, and personal insights to assist livestock producers in diversifying into meat marketing while managing financial, production, marketing, legal, and human risks.
The team’s academic experience provides a strong foundation in financial analysis, enterprise management, strategic decision-making, teaching, curriculum design, and program leadership. Complementing these credentials, team members bring significant personal experience, offering firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities faced by producers. Additionally, the team’s expertise spans livestock production, meat processing, and restaurant management, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the value chain from farm to fork.
